| Online Mapping Services. Storm Center uses the familiar browser-based mapping functionality found in Microsoft Virtual Earth® to communicate the location of outages to users. The simple interface means that users will not need application training and can quickly find the information that pertains to them.
Detailed Outage Information. Icons representing outage locations can be selected to display detailed outage information such as the number of customers affected, time of outage, estimated restoration time, and crew status (en route, arrived, etc.).
Outage Bounds For each outage, a shaded polygon of the affected area is displayed, allowing the user to quickly determine the relevance of the outage.
Additional Data Layers. Storm Center support the integration of additional data items, including permanent and event-based items like customer service locations or dry ice trucks. Layers such as distribution network overlays can also be included.
Historical Outage Information. A chart shows the number of customers affected and the number of trouble orders for the past three days.
Outages per Service Area. A table shows the number of customers affected per service area
Internal and External Deployments Storm Center is designed to be integrated with a utility’s corporate website, providing a one-stop information source to customers while adhering to existing corporate branding schemes. Multiple application portals can be created with secure login options to allow Storm Center to be used internally by users with access to additional functionality such as customer account lookup. |
